As Chief Strategic Customer Officer, Johnson & Johnson, Blasine Penkowski leads the Strategic Customer Group (SCG) – a cross-functional team that develops and implements strategies to gain formulary access for J&J products across the portfolio. SCG’s account management group engages with commercial and government healthcare payers, group purchasing organizations (GPOs), integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and wholesalers/distributors. Its pricing and contracting groups design pricing strategies and formalize agreements to ensure access for patients. In addition, SCG works with policymakers, advocacy groups, and healthcare quality organizations to shape a healthcare environment supportive of patients. SCG also provides support services for physicians and patients through benefit investigations and prescription fulfillment support, including savings programs to reduce out-of-pocket medication costs for eligible patients. Prior to joining Janssen, Blasine held positions of increasing responsibility at AbbVie, running businesses and leading the Managed Markets function. She held the role of Vice President/General Manager, Managed Markets & Trade and several other Vice President roles across different portfolios of AbbVie’s business. Blasine holds a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.
