Dr. Christopher Owens, PharmD, MPH is Associate Vice President for Health Sciences at Idaho State University. He has held a faculty position at ISU since 2003 and is also an adjunct instructor for the University of Florida’s Online Masters Program in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, where he has taught a course entitled “Ethics in Drug Production, Distribution, and Use” since 2012. He is a past clinical coordinator for Idaho Medicaid’s Drug Utilization Review (DUR) Program and currently serves as a member of the DUR Board. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he continues to lecture on bioethical, professional, and clinical practice topics to health sciences students –in the pharmacy, nursing, and physician assistant programs. His areas of clinical interest and expertise include inflammatory bowel disease, thyroid disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. His scholarly work has been published in the Journal of the America Pharmacists Association, Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy, and The American Journal of Medicine.
