James S. Lewis II, PharmD, FIDSA is is the infectious diseases pharmacy supervisor and co-director of antibiotic stewardship at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland Oregon. He received is bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Washington State University as well as his Pharm.D. He subsequently completed a PGY-2 in infectious diseases as the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System and University Health System in San Antonio where he went on to practice and help establish the antibiotic stewardship program over 13 years. In 2013 Dr. Lewis relocated to Portland where he has been in his current role since. Dr. Lewis has served on the infection prevention and flu planning committees at both the University Health System in San Antonio as well as the Oregon Health & Science University. He also serves as an influenza drug therapy and influenza vaccine expert at OSHU. In addition he currently serves as the co-chair of the breakpoint working group for the Clinical Laboratory and Standards institute as well as being a member of the editorial board for Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy.
