Dr. Hanna is board certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Oncology Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy. He received his doctorate of pharmacy from Florida A&M University, completed his general residency at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN and his oncology residency at St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute, Boise, ID. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He primarily practices Hematology/Oncology pharmacy at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Mayo Clinic. On a national level, Dr. Hanna serves on the Executive Council for the National Oncology Community Dispensing Association and is President-Elect for the Southern Affiliate Chapter of the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He is an active member and has been an invited speaker for NCODA, HOPA, MSHP, and other professional pharmacy organizations and has been featured on The Video Journal of Oncology and Specialty Pharmacy Times. Dr. Hanna’s research interests are focused on outcome measures for patients with rare diseases. He has published over a dozen peer-reviewed manuscripts in various journals including Pharmacotherapy, AJHP, JOPP, and JHOP. He is also an active member of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
