Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Pulmonary
University of Colorado
Matt Casciano completed his pharmacy training at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and subsequently went on to complete a pharmacy practice residency at the University of Colorado Hospital. Upon completion, he started his career on the adult pulmonary unit at the University of Colorado Hospital and formalized pharmacy coverage of pulmonary hypertension patients. He has helped initiate pulmonary hypertension into the curriculum at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy. Over the past ten years, he has worked with the pulmonary hypertension team educating patients and staff, performing internal reviews, and increasing medication safety regarding therapies for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Being a referral center for PAH, he is a part of the Centers of Comprehensive Care at the University of Colorado Health System and continues to look for more ways to improve pharmacy involvement with all the treatment modalities for pulmonary hypertensive patients.
