Divisional VP, Specialty Pharmacy Development & Brand Rx/Vaccine Purchasing
As Divisional Vice President, Ray Tancredi oversees a team that is responsible for all specialty pharmacy trade functions. He manages Specialty Pharmacy product access (including limited distribution), relationships, manufacturer hub services, referrals, contract negotiation, implementation, compliance, pharma programs, RFP support, patient services, new drug in-services and education. Additionally, Ray monitors strategic manufacturer accounts in an effort to maximize contracts and provide exceptional customer service. Ray also manages the team responsible for brand prescription drug launches and vaccine procurement—including flu vaccine, GPO relationships and specialty pharmacy distributors. In 2008, Ray joined Walgreens as Director of Trade Account Management. Prior to Walgreens, Ray worked at McKesson and held positions such as Director of Clinical Marketing, Senior Account Manager and Manager of Pharmacy Services. In these roles, he coordinated the implementations of different health plan specialty pharmacies and developed marketing material to support clinical programs. In 1983, Ray started his career in Philadelphia where he owned and operated retail pharmacies with his father and brother. In 1996, Rite Aid Corporation acquired these pharmacies, and Ray joined Aetna Inc. as Area Assistant Director of Pharmacy. Ray earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Temple University School of Pharmacy and is a registered pharmacist in Pennsylvania and Florida. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in Management from Eastern University. He is a Certified Specialty Pharmacist and served as President of the Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board in 2015.
